The Vintage Daisy

I'm an early eighties child. Wife to my fellow nerdy soul mate. Mother to two cheeky little monkeys. Crafter who has an obsession to yarn and fabrics. Appreciates vintage and hand made items. Living frugally but happily and just enjoying the simple pleasures in life in Sydney Australia. My family are my world..

Welcome!

  • Daisy Granny Squares

It’s been another productive week, besides blocking it, I have pretty much finished the daisy granny blanket for my two year old daughter, who by the way loves her new little hand made gift from mummy so much she has practically snatched it away and is sleeping soundly with it at the moment. (I don’t think she really cares if the blanket gets a blocking or not..and at the moment I don’t either). I’m just really pleased my little recipient adores it as much as I do :)

I based the pattern on Lucy’s summer garden granny squares and just chose to do an extra row of dc around each granny square for a neater look. Originally I was going to fan stitch around the blanket for the trim, but I changed my mind and decided to keep it simple with four rows of sc around in blue and white, keeping it subtle as to not draw too much attention away from the flowers..they are just too pretty and I really wanted them to be the main focus on the blanket.

Now that my two year old has a little granny blanket of her own, it is only fair that I make my one year old daughter one too!

Off I go to start another project….
