Sick with the flu so I’m spending my Sunday afternoon working on this cardigan for my three year old daughter (still!) I have decided that I am not a fan of this pattern at all but I just NEED to get it finished so I can move onto my next knitting project. I will be sticking to my usual top down/bottom up raglan style cardigans and tops from now on, which I find are more practical to work with. I will be very happy once this cardigan is finally finished. Lucky that when I started this project I decided to make it two sizes up, otherwise she would have outgrown the cardigan before I could finish it, yes it’s been that long! I started this project when she was two years old and I’ve been putting it off. Sigh….
This is a little couch throw I made and finished about a month ago. I used a lot of yarn scraps from my stash left over from various projects. I would have liked it to be a little longer covering the seat as well but I didn’t have enough yarn so had to stop there. I really like how random the squares are laid out and joined together, in no particular order whatsoever, kinda brightens up my little work area as this is where I sit to work on my yarny projects during the day - I’m thinking it needs some colourful crochet cushions to cosy the area up a bit. I guess it’s obvious what I’ll be adding to my WIP pile :)
Second Ripple Blanket.
Yep this is another project in my WIP pile, I’m working on another ripple blanket, after having made my first ripple blanket last year (the project which turned me into a crochet addict) I decided I needed to have more than one ripple blanket because not only do they keep me super warm in winter but it makes my bed look pretty :) it’s still summer here so I still have time to finish this giant blanket for our queen sized bed. I’m following a colour scheme this time instead of using random colours like my previous ripple blanket, I have also decided to crochet only one row of the light pink yarn each time instead of doing two rows like the other colours on the blanket and I’m really liking how its looking. It’s coming along great, still plenty to do though as I’m not even half way done. The beauty of having so many WIP going on at once is that I get to pick and choose what to work on each week, this way I don’t tire or get bored from just working on the one project, the thing with me is that I am easily distracted, if I have to work on something for more than a week (craft wise) I start to get bored, having a lot of WIP’s works for me, because after taking a bit of a break from a project by working on another I feel refreshed and I look forward to going back to working on the previous project again. Is that weird? does anyone do that or is it just me because I’m weird? I wonder if there is a terminology for what I have? ‘ADD Crafting’ maybe???? Who knows.
African Flower Hexie.
This could also be the beginning of another new WIP not sure what to make out of it yet.. just a random hexie in my basket at the moment…
I will be having a fabric giveaway through my Instagram @famo82 check back on my Instagram for more details x
Friendship Pattern Blanket.
Just winding down for the night…enjoying some tea and crocheting one more row on my blanket before I go to bed. This pattern is really growing on me, I have never heard of or seen this pattern being used before until I came across it a few days ago on YouTube. It’s called the ‘friendship afghan’ and I’m really taken by it, it’s quite a simple pattern using only sc and dc stitches. This is just one of the many projects I’m working on at the moment. I like to work on a few at a time so that when I need to take a break on one thing I can pick up something else to work on.
Another Ta-dah! moment.
This blanket took me six days to make, it’s only a small one though, lap size, just need to weave in the ends (not my favourite task in the world but necessary). Have been pretty quiet with my posts lately but will be back to posting my projects on here regularly, I have been working on a fair bit of crafty projects lately and I’m really looking forward to sharing them :)
Patchwork Cushion Cover.
The other day I decided to take a break from my many yarny projects and took out my fabric stash for a little bit of sewing goodness.
I whipped up this patchwork cushion cover, it is zip less so it was extra easy and quicker to make. And oh my goodness I think I am in love! I need to make more more more!! This is just too darn cute.
Puffy Daisy Granny Blanket
I am joining in with Ginny this week for a yarn along.
Well after I finished my daisy granny blanket for little Miss J, I thought it only fair that I make one for Miss T as well (my one year old).
It was also a good way of using up the small little bits and pieces of left over yarn from my yarn stash. No wastage here. I had all these small bits of different coloured yarn from various projects, a lot of them were quite short and not quite long enough to crochet into a square with, so I used them for the centres of the daisies, it also helps add colour to the blanket. I’ve made these daisies much smaller to the ones on Miss J’s blanket, but they are a lot puffier. I am about halfway done and still deciding on what edging I would like this blanket to have.
I have 32 more squares to make before I finish, here’s hoping I will be finished over the next couple of weeks, spring is Just around the corner here in OZ, and the weather is starting to warm up, I do hope that Miss T gets to enjoy her blanket this year before it gets too warm.
A Little Bunting Fun
Yesterday morning I thought I would make something a little cute and fun for the girls bedroom. So I started on crocheting up some triangles to make a small bunting. This was a very quick and satisfying little project. I would have finished this sooner had I not been distracted with another project last night. (I have so many WIP at the moment it’s not funny). Anyway I finished up the bunting this afternoon while the girls were napping. They woke up to a lovely little surprise in their room. I think I can safely say they like their little bunting.
It’s so pretty just hanging up there. I am kind of jealous. I think I need one in my room too.
